Other HBO-Treated Conditions

At the present time, it is unclear whether or not Medicare and private insurances will cover certain approved conditions reimbursed for hospitals to private facilities. Pittsburgh Hyperbarics will refer patients with those conditions that may be on the approved condition list to Allegheny General Hospital, who we have a working relationship with. If your condition is not covered by Medicare or private insurance, we can deliver HBO therapy to you for cash reimbursement.

The list of conditions treatable with hyperbaric oxygen is substantial. In addition to stroke, autism and traumatic brain injury, the most common HBO-treated non-Medicare reimbursed conditions are:

• Chronic fatigue symptoms
• Wounds not covered by Medicare
• Slow-healing Infections
• Skin rejuvination
• Chronic pain (some conditions)
• Migraine/Cluster Headaches
• Multiple Sclerosis (certain aspects)

• Eye conditions (such as dry macular edema)

• Orthopedic problems-sprains/strains chronic or acute/fractures non-healing
• General wellness
• Selected mental health disorders
• Liver detoxification enhancement
• Colon disorders
• Brain fog

Pittsburgh Hyperbaric Institute believes in making hyperbaric treatment affordable to everyone who desires a trial series.

In the United States, HBO fees can run up to $1,200 per hour. We believe everyone who needs HBO should be able to afford it. Our treatment fees begin at $150 per hour of single hyperbaric treatment ("chamber time"). The fee per session drops with additional treatments. Contact us for additional details.
